Valentine’s Day Story

"Valentines is not the name of a day. It is the name of a Priest, who lived in Rome. Rome was ruled by king Claudius in that time and he wanted to become a powerful king. For which he had built a large army. But he saw that the people of Rome who have families, wives and children, they do not want to join the army. Then Claudius made a rule that no one would marry because, once any one got marry, they spent time with their family. Nobody liked this rule, but no one was able to say anything in front of the Claudius. Pastor Valentin did not like this. One day a couple came, who expressed their desire to get married, then Pastor Valentin got their marriage quietly in a room. But later Claudius came to know about that marriage and put Pastor Valentin in prison and is sentenced to death.

When Pastor Valentin was in the jail, everyone used to come to meet him and gave him roses and gifts. He used to tell everyone that he believed in love, he was sentenced to death on14th February. Before Pastor Valentin, he wrote a letter, which was described the meaning of love. Happy love is given to those who love valentines and plead to keep love alive, so from that day till today 14 February is celebrated as Valentine’s Day in memory of valentines. "
