About Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14^th in every calendar year. It is called as the festival love. It is celebrated with great love and affections in all over the world. There is no bank or public holiday for this occasion, but people celebrate it in like a national holiday in the country. History of Valentine's Day

Although there are many stories behind this celebration, there is no strong evidence of anyone. All stories are just believed. One reason is believed that around the 12th century there was a ruler in Rome who did not allow any of his soldiers to marry. He was thinking that if humans get married, they will busy with their family children. They do not want to join his army. Then it will difficult to protect his kingdom from the outside enemy.

This practice was opposed by Saint Valentin, he married a couple, after which the king killed Valentin on 14 February. When Valentin was in jail, she used to give him flowers and gifts as a love. Saint Valentin wrote a letter to the king's chief jailer before he died, and after dying told to give his eyes to his blind daughter. After this, this day of love started being celebrated in the memory of Valentin.

Earlier on this day people used to give each other a hand-made heart-shaped card, on which their feelings were written. Which is called a Valentine card, but now it has been replaced by a card found in the market. With the growth of digitalazation, the hard copy of cards now became the e-cards.
